I am not so convinced. At icsvn2 where deepfritz7 also played, it
didn't see Rxh8 move from DIEP at all coming.
Can you explain why fritz played move 62 of black?
I saw that at like 6 ply or so with a +2.xx score with diep.
DIEP didn't manage to win it in the end, but it was a won endgame.
Fritz seems to be a fail high program to me. Like all semi-MTD
programs it knows nothing about failing low. It plays some random
move there causing it to lose.
I am not impressed by it at all, though endgame definitely improved
compared to older versions. Like many engines, except
crafty, advance bigtime in their knowledge, so does fritz.
It's behind on others though because of just solving fail high tricks.
