Fair enough. :) It's just that _for me_, the speed advantage would have to be _a
lot_ (that is, more than 10%) before I'd do a 'hack' like that. But that's just
me. :)

I'm pretty sure there is no difference at all speed-wise, but maybe a compiler
guru can answer that question.
