I'm using the standard iterative deepening whereby the program calls first to ply 1, then ply 2, etc. It actually does a full-width search only for the first move of the first call to depth 1. Thereafter it uses a smaller window. Maybe I should do a full-width search for the first move of *every* iteration? Cheers, Mike.
