In most of the cases it is the case but there are cases when moving the king is
the best idea for a mate attack.

It depends on the alternatives.
It may be better to allow pawn islands if you control the board and have better
mobility.

There are rules that are correct in most of the cases but rules like "you should
never..." are not correct.

This is waht I meant when I posted there are no general rules.
It was a reply to "you should never..."
