Subject: Chess Tiger 15 strength impressions

I haven't run any comp-comp tournaments with Chess Tiger 15, but I have had time
to play many online games at Yahoo's advance chess lounge against my usual
fellow program players. So far, I have to agree with John Smith and a few of the
other posters who are not having the success they expected with Chess Tiger 15.
In comparision to my strongest program, Deep Fritz 7, Tiger is drawing (and
losing) a lot of games that I usually tend to win. Unfortunantely, I have
reached the point were I no longer even use CT15 when playing at Yahoo.

My gut feeling is something is just not set-up quite right with the engine
and/or gui. I'm not giving up on CT15 and plan to tweak some things to see what
I can achieve. I would also like to ask any of you that have worked with CT15 a
lot in tournaments and beta testing to help me as well. I'm confident that with
a few changes here and there, Chess Tiger 15 (like it's predecessor CT14 once
did) will resume it's role as one of, if not the strongest programs used at the
Yahoo advanced chess lounge. Here is my current settings: Normal engine, 192MB
hash, 16M TB cache, all 3/4/5 endgame tablebases. Hardware: XP 2400+, 512MB of
ddr 3200 ram, raid 0 harddrive array, and the OS is Windows Xp.

Thanks,
JW
