there is no K7 MP which runs at 4 processors.

If you mean 4 x Xeon P3-1.4 to 1.6Ghz then you are in a different
price league. The sponsor from junior will answer the question to
you perhaps, but i guess it is not so hard to answer the questoin:
they sell dual Xeon systems more than other systems. So why not
play on a dual xeon system?

I do not see relationship with Fritz here. It is 2 competitors
playing against a GM.

Why would junior play better on some stupid 8 processor Xeon system 900Mhz
only, that's 7200Mhz , versus 2 x 2.8 = 5.6Ghz very efficient dual system.

Only programs like DIEP function better on 8 processors. I do not believe
fritz is faster on the 8 x 900 system than it would be on a 2 x 2.8Ghz P4.

My own experiences are that Fritz is weaker on that 8 processor system
than on that 2 x 2.8P4 Xeon.

However for marketing reasons they chose to play on 8 x 900 seemingly.

Many explanations why the 8 processor is way way weaker for fritz are
already posted to CCC previous weeks.

Note that the K7 has a MP version which runs in SMP systems, but
that the intel processor has 'Xeon' processors that run in SMP systems.

It doesn't have a 'MP' version like the K7.
