I know, so I went straight for the beowulf hack to save some time :)

Where did you get it from?
The one (tbindex.cpp in tbgen.zip) from Hyatt's ftp is only 137 kB, perhaps it
is a newer edition or something, probe.txt says to include it if you want to
probe the table bases.
