There is a shareware windows based basic programming language available on the
net. Your programs are written in basic with all of the windows goodies
provided. I have written a simple - one ply chess program in Qbasic, which I
will share with you if you want. It is a good starting point for any chess
program.
The main evaluation program, take into consideration, positions as well as
captures all in one function. You can seperate them if you like, but in most
programs, they are done at the same time.
Programmers, do however, keep track of the seperate items used in positional
playing, so they can change various items at will to see if they improve the
game or not.
Keep me posted with your results.
