Well, one thing you can do is check the ratings on ICC or fics.  Some
possibilities are Crafty, KnightCap, Arasan, Exchess, Amateur, Tristram, Rookie
(blik), XXXX, and several others I can't remember.  I believe sources and
executables are available for most, if not all of these.
