I own a 2.8 GIG and a 2.53 GIG P4. I like the P4 chips best, but not having anything to do with how fast program x or y runs on them as compared to a AMD chip. I will tell you unless you buy a "deep" program and a dual chip system you will find little elo advantage between the companies fastest chips. The performance between the best chips from each company is to small in real terms. My advice... buy the latest chip from either company and enjoy it now.
