Crafty's configuration file is a text file called crafty.rc
You can create and edit it according to your taste. For example, this is my
crafty.rc file, for one of the Crafties:

And the following is my crafty.rc for Crafty 19.1 SE, which you can get from
Mike Byrne:

{Mike's Crafty allow to try several possible "personalities" for Crafty. For
example, the line "krafty morphy" included above makes Crafty to play in open,
attacking style. You can replace it, for example, by "krafty petrosian" who
likes closed, defensive positions. Other standard personalities are "krafty gm"
or "krafty standard"}
