... it is clear that Kramnik would not have blundered away a Knight in Game 5 ... but would he have held out in the Q-endgame a Pawn down? I have yet to see this analysed in depth. In Game 6, 'Mini Fritz' would not have been recommending 19.Nxf7 but would this have made a difference? Probably not. However, it might have persuaded Kramnik not to resign and steered him to a draw defence. K.Burcham's interesting 22h DFritz_analysis seems to indicate that Kramnik would have had the upper hand with 19.Bxd5 and a rapid exchange of forces. Maybe 0.5 points saved overall to give 4.5-3.5: all part of the 'what ifs'. Not sure what this would have been in ELO tournament rating and 95%_confidence_interval terms for Fritz_Bahrain. g
