We have four new entrants on this version of
SSDFs rating list. Due to completely different
hardware, one takes the first place and one of
the other receives place 48 out of 50.

Frans Morschs latest program is Deep Fritz 7.0.
With an Athlon 1200 MHz it has taken the top
position on the list with a rating of 2763! That
is 21 points more than Fritz 7.0 has with the
same hardware. On a K6-2 450 MHz the difference
is 15 points, but here the older Deep Fritz is
one point ahead of Deep Fritz 7.0 K6-2 450 MHz.

Frank Schneider and Kai Skibbe have written the
non-commercial program Gromit 3.11.9. We have
now played 131 tournament games on a Athlon
1200 MHz, using the ChessBase interface and
the opening book general.ctg. Gromits rating is
2628, which gives it a place between Gandalf 5.1
and Crafty 18.12.

Tony Hedlund has played 100 games with Chess
Tiger 14.9 for Palm, written by Christophe Théron.
The used Palm-version is called m515, has 16MB RAM,
and runs on 42 MHz. It's rating is 2101.

Compared to the rating list from July 30,
Shredder 6.0 Paderborn A1200 has gone up nine points,
and Hiarcs 8.0 on the same hardware has gained
11 points. Fritz 7.0 K6-2 has increased it's rating
with eight points and Century 4.0 A1200 has lost
eight points.

We have started to play with Chess Tiger 15.0. On
Palm we are also playing with Chess Genius 1.5.
