Objectively speaking black played a blunder at move two. 2... d5 is dead equal, not that 2... Nf6 is such a bad move either it is equal but allows white some space. Then 5... d6 is better than 5... b6 and white has an easy game. This kind of opening tomfoolery I'm always happy to play against. The plain facts of it is that the 2. c3 variation in the Sicilian is a waste of time. It is mainly an anti-theoretical line. But by now it is well known theory. MvH Dan Andersson
