Due to the rampant stealing of chessbase programs and engines via the internet.
Unfortunately, 90 % of the individuals in Yahoo chess who play with chessbase
engines never paid for them. Most downloaded the engines or programs via some
peer to peer. Others traded ids or rating pts for engines(once you have a
chessbase program, its a relatively simple matter to email the engine and modify
the program to not ask for the CD.

Fortunately, I know of no instance of chesstiger 15 being pirated in yahoo.
Everyone who is using it has paid for it; most downloaded it from Lex's
excellent site.

Until Chessbase shows a willingness to address this serious issue of theft of
intellectual property, I don't blame Chris or Lex for avoiding Chessbase.
