The sneaky thing to do would be to check online UK prices via the links here:

http://directory.google.com/Top/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Recreation_and_Sports/Home_and_Garden/Consumer_Information/Price_Comparisons/

then go to Tottenham Court Road, say "I can get X for Y at Z.com" and give a
knowing look. The people there are quite willing to do deals ;)

(As a guide www.empiredirect.co.uk is _particularly_ cheap).
