Who needs to hear the needling snide remarks of a sneering male voice? I would much rather play against a talking chess engine which was female! If the Fritz people were to put out a female version, I would expect her to be called Fritzie or Fritzette, or some such. The female voice should make encouraging &/or approving remarks, when your chess moves were especially good. Never an unkind word. VERY supportive! The voice should be that of Marilyn Monroe. The comments should be those one would expect to hear from a girlfriend of loving wife. Lots of cooing and such. Chess engine programmers should solicit the help of female chessplayers who have a great sense of humor to make the voice for their engines. The comments would have to be reasonably tasteful. We wouldn't want to give the Puritanical Zealots an axe to grind. I would enjoy playing against such a chess engine. Bob D.
