If I remember correctly Palm genius is a fairly old engine, almost unchanged, from the time Richard was working on the 68xxx architecture. Genius1/DOS is not older (about the time Richard started porting his program on the i86 platform) and it is running on a probably more powerful machine (486 66Mhz vs Dragonball).
