It is better to give some numbers based on a test of free chess programs to describe the hardware. I think that 2 may be enough and we need one free program that likes computer A and one free program that likes computer B. I know that gandalf likes the A1200 when there are other programs like tiger earn less speed from A1200 relative to K6-450. The question is which free program earns the biggest speed advantage from A1200 relative to K6-450 and which free program earns the smallest speed advantage from A1200 relative to K6-450. I think that we can use the number of nodes per second of both programs to describe the hardware that is used and it may give better information. Uri
