Much of that would depend on the amount of RAM you have on your PC as well. In addition to that, if you have your Hash Tables set too high in conjuction with not having enough RAM, your harddrive will swap even more when the tablebases are accessed. I am running a 350 MHz Pent II with upgraded SDRAM from 64 MB to 384 MB SDRAM. on the Windows 98 Operating System. I also have the tablebase cache set at 16 MB. I only have an 8 GIG hard drive with approx. 1.84 GIg of free space remaining. You need enough free space left on your Harddrive to allow for the Swap File (Virtual Memory) I still get some swapping, but not too much. Brian
