The following post appeared in comp.ai.games, which may be of interest in computer chess programming: Hello, Logistello is one of the strongest Othello programs in the world. In 1997 it defeated the reigning human World-champion 6-0. I have put Logistello's source code on my web-page http://www.cs.ualberta.ca/~mburo . It is released under the GNU Public License (version 2). I hope that the code will help beginners to learn about state-of-the-art heuristic search implementations and that it will ignite research on coming generations of even stronger Othello programs. Cheers. /Michael Buro
