Hi Stuart: The reason I like Arasan is in fact a complicated mix of reasons. First, it is strong, but not so strong as to put me in tatters at once. I am a 2100-2200 player and so arasan, around 2300 or 2350 I believe, is exactly what I need to do some play by myself instead of being pushed from the very first minute to the ropes. Second, I love programs with its own gui, as Arasan. Probably is silly, but I feel that an engine with his own thing has more personality than just an engine you put in the same bag with many others. Third, I feel simpathy for Jon. He is the kind of guy that never say something nasty of other programmers, never try to enhance himself with his own program and in everything seems to be a very nice, polite guy. Fourth: yes, I use Arasan to recover my ego after being mauled by every top commercial program. NOT that I win Arasan. It is just I could win Arasan one of these days ...:-) My best Fernando
