No computer programs play like a human. Humans make blunders fairly often. Even when not blundering, humans will miss big tactical things that computers will tirelessly and accurately find. Just for fun, get 4000 lines of EPD with best move chosen for each line. Hide the bm result and see how many you find in two hours. You will find that computers do much better than you do. Maybe better than Kasparov at such things, under great time pressure. CS-Tal is interesting and attacking. CM5500 is very powerful for pocket change. Crafty can be had for nothing, but the power of its play is priceless. Look at what Fritz, Rebel 10 and Junior have done against some of the best players in the world. The biggest difference between computers and excellent chess players is that a computer is always ready to play a game with you and an excellent chess player may have better things to do. I don't believe in the "personalities" in CM5500, that are supposed to make it play like a human. If you think they are accurate, step through one of the games that the personality is supposed to be emulating [and is not in CM5500's database], and see if the computer makes the same moves. I believe you will find that the emulation is *ahem* imperfect.
