Perhaps some of you whoe are more knowledgeable than I can help me in this
matter.
With a brand new computer (AMD 2600+ with 1 gig of DDR SDRAM)on the way with an
80 gig harddrive (7200 rpm)and mostly chess oriented files and folders to be
loaded in addition to loading Microsoft office 2000 on Windows xp
professional.........Excel will be used with some formulas...........Should I
parition the Harddrive for the optimun chess usage or is that not really
necessary?
I just figure that if I am going to partition at all, it may as well be before I
load everything on the Harddrive.
I will in addition to running the Deep Fritz 7 interface with many engines in
various folders, be loading many chess games of players download from
Chessopolis in addition to chessbase databases and opening books PLUS the 9 disc
set of Nalimov Tablebases(purchased from this site).
If any of you have an opinion on this, please do not hesitate to respond. Any
and all replies are more than welcome.
