Testers could have a FICS server running on their lab network (maybe on an old 486) and just log in the client machines to arrange matches. The routines in Robofics practically provide a ICS protocol library - for Unix/Linux machines at least. I am not sure how difficult this would be to port to Win32. Programs that are xboard/winboard compatitable would automatically be compliant with the standard through the ICS interface provided by xboard. I am not sure if the xboard/winboard protocol alone is a good enough standard because while xboard/winboard does allow an engine to reside on external machine.... I believe that the external machine must be unix/linux. Someone please correct me if I am wrong here. - Dan
