I knew I wasn't losing my mind. I know that I read somewhere that FAT32 had
limits, but forgotten where:

NOTE: Microsoft Windows 2000 only supports FAT32 partitions up to a size of 32
GB

Thus Windows XP would have the same problems.

I use Windows XP and can not use more than 32 gb of FAT32 per disk.
