The thing that Christophe currently plans doesn't involve any risk, as far as I
can tell. I'm sure there are other ways to reduce the risk. And a big company

I don't buy this. The people who often can't tell the difference between "free
beer" and "free speech" are not always the Linux guys. Also, the game market for
Linux is not that small anymore (although of course still very small compared to
the Windows market) in the area of games. And the games are not for free either.
(neither in the sense of 'free beer' nor in the send of 'free speech')

I would not. And I prefer to do business (as if I can choose :p) with companies
who think different. If everyone would think 'wait until ...' we would all use
Windows everywhere by tomorrow.
