Why should they?

Chessbase sells a product called "Fritz". This article includes access to a fast
growing chess server called "playchess.com". Why should Chessbase voluntarily
fight its own server's growth and popularity by implementing ICC compability?

If you want to use ICC or FICS, there's is lots of alternate and freely
available software for you to use.

If you want to use playchess.com, you need Fritz.

It's as simple as that.

I'm still waiting for someone to complain that Fritz cannot cook coffee or do
the laundry ... ;-)
