I can think of several reasons.

(1) how many players are logged on to playchess.com at any time? ICC typically
has 1000-2000 people on all the time.

(2) how many FM/IM/GM players are logged on to playchess.com at any time? ICC
typically has a couple of dozen GM players on, not to mention IM/FM players.

The danger in the above kind of thinking (we won't support other servers to
make ours more popular) can have an inverse sort of result. If enough try ICC
I think they would _demand_ ICC support...

You left out the _important_ part. If you want to use ICC you _cant_ use
fritz. That might hurt one day soon...

Particularly if ChessBase products are the _only_ ones that can't use ICC...
