Good question, and I am not the best person to answer as I don't have CB8 - only
have read about it and own other CB products. But here goes:

1. I think that CA7 has "next-generation" handling of the engines to produce
analysis: the engines may be the same (or similar) but the GUI is now using them
much more intelligently to generate analysis. ChessBase analysis I believe has
basically 2 options: how long to ponder per move and what delta value. CA7
analysis probably has more than 20 options in advanced mode - but you have
simple ways of getting at these too. In Chessbase you will never see the moves
that failed to meet the cut; in CA7 you will - and the variations that ensued -
but not cluttering up the game analysis proper, they are in a seperate window.
Its also really neat to be able to click on ANY move in ANY window - main game
text, engine output, variation windows and to see the board for that position.
Oh, did I mention the ability to run an extra analysis engine on a second
computer over the network? (Or a third, or a fourth - each can be given
different types of task.)

2. Excellent ICC capabilites with all that means in terms of being able to
observe real games (I refer chiefly to the classical GM games that ICC relay)
with all that analytical power under the hood.

3. 2 million game database included with product, not as extra. Entire database
is indexed into opening tree.

4. CAP data - 10 million opening positions have already been pre-analysed by
computer and you can see these values as you browse through the tree.

I have come to CA7 via Chessmaster8000, Hiarcs8, and Scid and I feel like a kid
in a sweetie shop.
