I fear that the company producing CM may be about to discontinue their chess engine business. This fear is NOT based on any insider information, since I don't have any. But this sort of thing has happened all too often in the past. When the key individual leaves, the prime mover's absence leaves a vacuum. I remember the "good old days" when my Macintosh computer ruled supreme. Then, it was hard to find chess software for the mac. But there was one, and I played with it many hours daily. After becoming intimately familiar with the software, I was able to see ways that it could be improved. Finally, I contacted the manufacturer and expressed my suggestions, expecting a big "Thank You." But guess what . . . it was more like "Go Away!" The company had already decided that the product was not sufficiently profitable. They dropped it like so much trash. Bob D.
