Generally kibitzing is just commenting on a game, sometimes by someone other than a player, and it is sometimes frowned upon. However, in the context of computer chess, it has become typical for an engine to report some key data, such as the score, "depth" searched, search time and the principal variation, number of EGTB hits, or whatever. For example, Tinker's "kib" looks something like this: +0.45 at 9(18/29) ply 0.59 secs 429 Knps pv: 27. ... f3e4 28. c2d1 e4f5 Tinker scores this as up .45 pawns, after completing a 9 ply full-width search, which included extensions to 18 ply and quiescence searches to 29 ply. This only took .59 seconds, since the predicted move (the one Tinker was pondering), was actually made, Tinker is black and the PV move sequence is as shown. There were no EGTB probes done. The format often varies for book moves.
