If your goal is to beat Kasparov then you may be in for disappointment.
On the other hand, if you are interested in pursuing a mentally
stimulating hobby that will contain a fair number of "eureka" moments,
then you could do worse.  Frankly, if you're retiring I can think
of no better activity to keep away Alzheimer's ;)
