Hi Ed,
I am almost done with version 1 of my very first chess program. It's
written in QBasic and will be public domain so other first-timers can
use it. I have decided to call it "Primevil" - a combination of the
words Primeval and Evil. I was thinking one day about how quite a few
experienced programmers consider QBasic to be "archaic" (but it's great
for hobbyists, students, and beginners!). That led me to the word
"primeval". And my version 1 will be fairly primitive... but in hopes of
eventually having a version that is a strong player, I thought of adding
the concept of "evil" to the name. It just kind of fell into place.
But before this, I had a list of about 10 other names I was considering.
Thanks. Interesting question! 8^D
