Serge asked what programs played Qxa7? in the following position: 3rr1k1/ppp3q1/2b5/6p1/5p2/2R2N2/PPP2QPP/R5K1 w - - I tried this on a few programs on my Macintosh 7300/180 - I'll list from best to worst result: Chessmaster 4000 - discarded Qxa7 in favor of Re1 in less than 2 seconds. HIARCS 6.0 - saw Qxa7 as bad at 3 seconds, but took 12 seconds to switch to Re1 Sigma Chess 4.0 Lite - saw Qxa7 as bad in 35 seconds, but stuck to it at 3 min.
