After seeing some people on this forum hold their own personal tournaments
I have taken the time to install several free winboard engines and a few which I
already had. So far I have 33 engines and I will be holding a tournament on my
computer. This is my own personal set up and the way I thought it would best be
suited to test the engines. Ok now...
I have 33 engines and have divided them up into 5 different groups. The
first 3 groups will have 6 engines each and the other groups will have 7. The
top 3 winners from each group will be advancing to the next round. The 15 2nd
round finalists will be divided up into 3 more groups of 5. The top 2 winners
from each group will then compete against professional engines (the ones I have
anyway).
The format of each group's tournament will be 2 cycles in Round Robin
format. If their is a tie in any of the groups a 3 game play off will be held.
If there is another tie a 5+2 blitz games will be played until a winner is
reached.
Hardware: P-III 1 ghz with 128 MB RAM, each engine will have 16 MB of
hash. Ponder=off. All engines will use the 2600+.ctg 3-4-and most 5 man TB's.
