You may have to pay more than $300. : ) Seriously, you must not have read all of the recent bulletins here. Everybody is saying that there is no single best chess-playing program for the PC right now. You are asking for the impossible. Perhaps it would be helpful if you would say what it is that you want in a chess-playing program. Maybe you want some feature which, if you're lucky, is available in only one of the top programs.
