I understood Bobs claim as 'bitboards have a performance advantage when going from 32bit to 64bit processors'. That leaves it open whether bitboards sucks terribly on a 32bit-CPU and suck a_bit_less_than_terribly_ on a 64bit-CPU. Happy? :) Sargon
