At present, there is no really good way to do this... but you do have a couple of options. 1. in the crafty.rc file, add "ponder=off" (no quotes) to stop crafty from thinking while you are trying to decide on your move. This effectively slows it down significantly and reduces its strength. 2. set the time control you want within winboard, but in the crafty.rc file add a "st=n" command where n is the seconds/move (you can go all the way down to st=.01 to take 1/100th of a second per move, max). This can be used to give yourself a time handicap...
