At some point, yes.  And later he converted to 0x88 I think.  Perhaps right
after the 1997 tournament.  He might not use that now, or I might be mistaken.
I remember him talking about rewriting his move generator after returning from
one of the 1995-1996-1997 events.  He said he had heard about this approach
from one of the participants and wanted to try it...
