Ok, I've tried it at home and it seems I was wrong: I did compile 19.0 and it
didn't compile out-of-the-box. :p

I've downloaded 19.1 now and here are the results: (on a RH8 system):

"make linux"
------------

Failed miserably (lots of unresolved symbols (like PopCnt, FirstOne, etc) I
didn't investigate what's the problem.

"make linux-elf"
----------------

Minor linking problem - the (for gcc3) typical unresolved symbol
'__gcc_personality_v0'. Can be fixed by adding '-lstdc++' to the linker line
(w/o the quotes)

"make linux-i686"
-----------------

Same problems as with "make linux", see above.

"make linux-i686-elf"
---------------------
Compiled out-of-the-box (I'm sure this time :)

Hope this helps!
