I don't maintain the "make linux" option and don't know anything about it.

make linux-i686-elf and make linux-icc-elf are the two I use and they work
just fine on any recent linux platform I have had from redhat 5.2 on to 8.0.

There was a glitch in the -lstdc++ option was needed with gcc 3.2 in redhat 8.0,
but that is the only issue I am aware of and I fixed this in the last release
that was
made.
