For your price range, the strongest portables is currently the SAITEK COSMOS
model available for $80 new in some places.  You have to set the ACL button
after installing the batteries.  Around ~2000.  For about $150 ..you can get the
Mephisto Milano Pro which is around ~2100.  For about $300 , you can get Atlanta
which is currently the strongest model in production today ~2200.
