A similar problem was the subject of a recent bulletin here, posted by someone other than myself. While in postmortem analysis, Fritz does something, which seems REALLY dumb. I do my initial postmortem analysis as a fairly quick scan, progressing from the last move of the game backwards to the initial move of the game. The purpose of this scan is to flag moves giving big changes in the evaluation. [A later stage of the analysis examines those moves more closely.] After a minute or two, I note the evaluation and then step back a move. If the evaluation doesn't change by more than 0.25 pawns, I ignore it and then make the next step to the next previous move. If the change is by more than 0.25 pawns, I allow Fritz to think a few minutes and then make note of the move Fritz preferred. Then I continue the scanning process. This is straightforward enough. [This is especially useful if done only a few minutes after the game is concluded. I make notes based on my memory of the game.] For some DUMB reason, Fritz seems to throw away it's analysis from the previous move and starts all over at the next step of my scanning process, which is to look at the position immediately prior to the position just evaluated. Why would it do that?????? I hope I am communicating. Bob D.
