Hi Mike As far as I can see, your InBetween.ini [Client2Server] ; Setting up The King with 128Mb hash xboard := xboard\npost\nnew\ncm_parm default\ncm_parm tts=134217728 ttu=9 opk=977150\n cm_parm myp=100 myn=100 myb=100 myr=100 myq=101\ncm_parm mycc=102 mymob=102 myks=100 mypp=100 mypw=100\ncm_parm opcc=102 opmob=102 opks=100 oppp=100 oppw=100\ncm_parm cfd=0 sop=100 avd=0 rnd=0 sel=12 md=99\n should be correct [see remarks below] but this is no surprise because the params set by you do correspond with my settings generated under CM9-GUI as per following logfile output of Quark winboard engine: Input to Quark: cm_parm opp=100 opn=100 opb=100 opr=100 opq=100 can't interpret move Input to Quark: cm_parm myp=100 myn=100 myb=100 myr=100 myq=101 can't interpret move Input to Quark: cm_parm mycc=102 mymob=102 myks=100 mypp=100 mypw=100 can't interpret move Input to Quark: cm_parm opcc=102 opmob=102 opks=100 oppp=100 oppw=100 can't interpret move Input to Quark: cm_parm cfd=0 sop=100 avd=0 rnd=0 sel=12 md=99 can't interpret move Input to Quark: cm_parm tts=67108864 Remarks about two things I am not sure about: 1.) You use the parameter md=99\n instead of md=99 as per logfile output 2.) You have started with parameters "my..." and usually its vice versa (op...) but I do not think that this should have a negative influence. And finally I noticed that you play with 128 MB hash for TheKing. Please change to a maximum of 64 MB hash (tts=67108864) as our tests in practical play have shown that this value is best. Even only 32 MB hash [tts=33554432] is better than 128 MB hash. And last question: why are you not running The King 3.23 as UCI under Fritz-GUI? This is the best solution and avoids using the old ChessBase winboard adapter. Kind regards Kurt Our homepage "Kurt & Rolf Chess": http://www.beepworld.de/members39\utzinger Kurt
