Why? Well it depends on the individual, I'd imagine. A simple reason is, to add
to your ChessBase addition.

Of course, a stronger engine is important to most of us, and it almost certainly
will have that, plus upgrades will almost invariably follow, which is most
attractive, and a "smart move" by ChessBase.

Improvements in the user interface can be very important too, and most
definitely will be found in Fritz 8.

I intend to purchace it when the English ver. is released and that should be
within a couple of weeks, as I've already inquired and was informed it will be
out in that time frame.
