First, mine does solve this instantly. :
White(1): move
end-game phase
clearing hash tables
time surplus 0.00 time limit 30.00 (3:00)
depth time score variation (1)
1 0.00 Mat08 1. h7 <EGTB>
1-> 0.00 Mat08 1. h7 <EGTB>
2 0.00 Mat08 1. h7 <EGTB>
2-> 0.01 Mat08 1. h7 <EGTB>
time=0.01 cpu=100% mat=4 n=26 fh=100% nps=10000
ext-> checks=2 recaps=0 pawns=2 1rep=0
predicted=0 nodes=26 evals=1
endgame tablebase-> probes done=15 successful=15
SMP-> splits=0 stops=0 cpu=0.01 elapsed=0.01
First thing to do is to delete position.bin... this can sometimes
get corrupted, but it only happens on windows machines, not on unix
platforms. See if deleting this file will solve the problem...
I regularly delete position.* anyway, because I consider that sort of
learning to be "short term"...
