They should have asked him what he was doing, and then let him be. I feel that there are plenty of honest players out there who don't covet winning so much, and their values are as valid as anyone's. What is especially egregious is the issue over the $50...they owe him a refund at the very least. Until I see that he gets one, I will never join a place like that. I realize I'm in the minority. Cf. the post about the master who was kicked out of an OTB tournament for opening with 1.a3 and 2.Ra2. There's no reason under the sun for any TD to have kicked him out for those moves. Disgusting.
