I have spent the better part of an hour surfing the web looking for documentation that explains how to get Crafty to use its book. I am confident it needs to be an entry in the .craftyrc file, but I cannot find any docs for that file. I find lots of stuff on how to build a book for myself (using the "book" command), but I just want Crafty to use the book I have downloaded. I have copied the book files into the same directory as Crafty's executable sits, but still the book is not used. I am starting Crafty with this command: xboard -fcp /home/roy/chess/crafty/v18.14/crafty -fd /home/roy/chess/crafty/v18.14 Also, Bob Hyatt's ftp site (ftp.cis.uab.edu) seems to be down (at least I cannot get to it), so pointers there won't help me just now. Thanks for any assistance you can offer, and sorry for what has to be the definitive newbie question. The FAQ does not shed any light on this (that I could find) either. Roy
