Upon further investigation...
I think it's breaking when processing books.bin.  I have a tailored version of
start.pgn.  The log file for 15.19 sees only the opening moves (in response to
e4) of c5, c6, and d6.  The log file for 15.18 sees a lot more choices, which is
correct.
